This year\u2019s Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season finale at Monza was abandoned early following several accidents in the opening stages. For Proton Competition, this marked the end of a challenging season in which the team managed to achieve some notable highlights.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After just one counted lap, the race in the international Porsche one-make series on the high-speed circuit just outside Milan was brought to a premature end. This was due to several accidents that damaged the track barriers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keagan Masters was classified in 18th place. Following a difficult qualifying session, the early red flag robbed the South African of the chance to mount a comeback. Kai Pfister finished the race in 24th place. Andrea Galli, who was making a guest appearance for Proton Competition, was involved in one of the accidents. The Italian emerged from the crash unharmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This brings to an end a challenging season for Proton Competition in Porsche\u2019s top one-make series. Keagan Masters can look back on two major highlights: a pole position in Barcelona and third place at the Red Bull Ring. The South African finished twelfth in the overall standings. Kai Pfister improved as the season progressed and was involved in several thrilling battles for position against the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion, Jacques Villeneuve. In the team standings, the team from Hofkirchen in Bavaria finished seventh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis season has presented us with all sorts of challenges. A new car at the start of the year always involves a great deal of work. The team has always given their all and done a good job. The Porsche Supercup has a top-class, closely contested field \u2013 you can\u2019t afford to make any mistakes there if you want to finish right at the front,\u201d said team principal Christian Ried. \u201cOur focus now is on finishing the season successfully and setting the course for 2027. In the Carrera Cup, we have the chance to win the title. We intend to make the most of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team\u2019s next stop is the Hockenheimring, where the final round of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany will take place from 9 to 11 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
