Starting from pole at the 6 Hours of Fuji

Proton Competition will start the 6 Hours of Fuji (27 September) from pole position after a weather-shortened qualifying session. With no meaningful running possible, the grid was set using the fastest times from free practice. The #77 Ford Mustang LMGT3 of Eric Powell, Ben Tuck and Sebastian Priaulx, which was fastest in practice, will therefore start the six-hour race at Fuji Speedway from pole.

“The car has felt amazing in both wet and dry conditions all weekend, and that’s shown with our pace in practice,” said Tuck. “We’re extremely happy to get pole position even if we were unable to fight in a true qualifying session! But the fact the result goes back to our practice pace shows that we’ve done enough to deserve pole. I can’t wait to get going in the race tomorrow!”

Stefano Gattuso, Giammarco Levorato and Logan Sargeant in the #88 sister car will start twelfth on the grid in the LMGT3 class. The race starts at 11:00 local time (04:00 CEST) and can be watched live and in full on free-to-air Eurosport 1 in Germany, as well as worldwide via the FIA WEC+ streaming service.
