Heading to Spa with LMGT3 title fight in sight

Proton Competition returns to the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the fourth round of the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) season (21 to 23 August). The Belgian venue will host Christian and Michael Ried’s team for the fifth time this year, following appearances at the Ardennes circuit in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland and the 24H Series.

As the ELMS season enters its crucial second half, Proton Competition arrives at Spa with four cars across three classes and firmly in the LMGT3 title fight. The team will be looking to build on the strong form shown so far and score another important result in the championship battle.

With just three rounds remaining, Matt Kurzejewski, Tom Sargent and Richard Lietz sit second in the championship and will once again share the #75 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Following a strong fourth-place finish at Imola, the team will look to maintain its momentum and challenge for another strong result at Spa as it continues its push for championship honours.

In the #77 Porsche 911 GT3 R – which is sporting a new livery for the Spa round – Alessio Picariello will join Martin Berry and Huub van Eijndhoven in the line-up, replacing Harry King. Picariello brings extensive experience with both Porsche machinery and the demanding Ardennes circuit. The Belgian driver will also have the opportunity to race in front of his home crowd at the 7km track.

In LMP2 and LMP2 Pro-Am, Proton Competition will field the same driver line-ups as at the previous round in Imola, providing continuity as the team enters another important stage of the ELMS campaign. Jonas Ried, Sebastian Priaulx and Mike Rockenfeller will team up behind the wheel of the #9 Oreca 07, while Horst Felbermayr Jr., Horst Felix Felbermayr and René Binder share driving duties in the #88 machine in the LMP2 Pro-Am class.

Fans of the endurance series can catch all the action from qualifying and the race on the FIAWEC+ app.
