Travelling to Silverstone as ELMS championship leaders

Proton Competition returns to action at the weekend as the European Le Mans Series enters the business end of the season with the 4 Hours of Silverstone (11 to 13 September). With one of the team’s four-car entries leading the championship in the LMGT3 category and another having scored two consecutive podiums, confidence among Christian and Michael Ried’s squad is high.
 
Matt Kurzejewski, Richard Lietz and Tom Sargent have shown that consistency is key in the tightly fought LMGT3 championship. The #75 Porsche 911 GT3 R has finished inside the top 7 at every round this season, giving the trio a one-point advantage in the championship with just two races remaining.
 
After missing the previous round in Spa, Harry King returns behind the wheel of the #77 Porsche 911 GT3 R he shares with Martin Berry and Huub van Eijndhoven. The #77 crew arrive at Silverstone among the championship’s in-form combinations, having secured two consecutive podium finishes. Full-season driver van Eijndhoven lies fourth in the drivers’ championship, just six points behind the drivers of the sister #75 Porsche.
 
Sebastian Priaulx, Jonas Ried and Mike Rockenfeller will be targeting overall honours in the LMP2 category in their #9 Oreca 07. The trio head to the UK highly motivated in the wake of their best result of the season last time out at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
 
Also arriving on a high is the crew of the #88 Oreca 07, René Binder, Horst Felbermayr Jr. and Horst Felix Felbermayr, who likewise recorded their best result of the season at Spa. Silverstone also marks the one-year anniversary of the Felbermayr father-and-son pairing’s first ELMS race together with Proton Competition, which took place at the same event last year.
 
All the action from qualifying and the race will be broadcast live and free of charge via the streaming platform FIA WEC+.
