\u201eEin verdienter Erfolg f\u00fcr das ganze Team\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n

Imola<\/em> \u2013 Mit einem Start-Ziel-Sieg in Imola hat sich das Team Proton Competition im Titelkampf der European Le Mans Series eindrucksvoll zur\u00fcckgemeldet. Im Porsche 911 RSR mit der Startnummer 77 holten Wolf Henzler (N\u00fcrtingen), Robert Renauer (Jedenhofen) und Mike Hedlund (USA) am Sonntag im Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari den ersten Saisonsieg in der Klasse GTE. Nach einer starken Vorstellung im Qualifying waren sie von der Pole-Position in das zweite Saisonrennen gestartet, das wegen heftiger Regenf\u00e4lle hinter dem Safety-Car zu Ende ging \u2013 und gaben ihre F\u00fchrung \u00fcber die gesamte Vier-Stunden-Distanz nicht aus der Hand. Im zweiten 911 RSR von Proton Competition verpassten Christian Ried (Sch\u00f6neb\u00fcrg), Gianluca Roda (Italien) und Klaus Bachler (\u00d6sterreich) als Vierte nur knapp das Podium.<\/p>\n

Stimmen zum Rennen<\/strong>
\nMichael Ried, <\/strong>Teameigner und Technischer Direktor: \u201eDas ist ein verdienter Erfolg f\u00fcr das ganze Team. Wir haben uns durch den nicht ganz so gl\u00fccklichen Saisonauftakt in Silverstone nicht von unserer Linie abbringen lassen, haben die richtigen Konsequenzen gezogen und sie hier perfekt umgesetzt. Daf\u00fcr wurden wir belohnt. Heute hat einfach alles gestimmt \u2013 die Leistung der Fahrer, die Boxenstopps und nat\u00fcrlich auch die Performance des 911 RSR. Dass wir vor allen leistungsst\u00e4rkeren LMP3-Autos ins Ziel gekommen sind, sagt alles. Nach diesem Erfolg k\u00f6nnen wir den n\u00e4chsten Rennen noch zuversichtlicher entgegensehen.\u201c<\/p>\n

Wolf Henzler<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #77): \u201eAm Anfang war es wegen der Gelbphasen etwas schwierig, meinen Rhythmus zu finden. Danach lief alles problemlos. Robert ist einen tollen Doppelstint gefahren und hat damit den Grundstein zum Sieg gelegt. Ich freue mich vor allem f\u00fcr das Team, das sehr hart gearbeitet und uns ein perfektes Auto hingestellt hat. Das hat heute richtig Spa\u00df gemacht.\u201c<\/p>\n

Robert Renauer<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #77): \u201eMein erstes Rennen mit Proton Competition gleich zu gewinnen \u2013 besser geht\u2019s nicht. Der 911 RSR war fantastisch abgestimmt. Ich konnte vom Start einen problemlosen Zwei-Stunden-Stint fahren und das Auto mit einem komfortablen Vorsprung an Wolf \u00fcbergeben. Diesen Sieg h\u00e4tten wir uns auch ohne den heftigen Regen zum Schluss nicht mehr nehmen lassen.\u201c<\/p>\n

Mike Hedlund<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #77): \u201eNat\u00fcrlich gibt es Sch\u00f6neres f\u00fcr einen Rennfahrer, als die meiste Zeit seines Stints hinter dem Safety Car herzufahren. Doch heute z\u00e4hlt nur eines \u2013 der Sieg.\u201c<\/p>\n

Christian Ried<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #88): \u201eSchade, dass es nicht f\u00fcrs Podium gereicht hat. Wir freuen uns aber \u00fcber den verdienten Sieg unserer Teamkollegen und werden alles versuchen, dass beim n\u00e4chsten Rennen in Spielberg wir vorne sind.\u201c<\/p>\n

Klaus Bachler<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #88): \u201eAls ich den 911 RSR \u00fcbernommen habe, musste ich als Letzter zur\u00fcck auf die Strecke. Der vierte Platz in diesem starken Feld ist kein schlechtes Ergebnis. Mit etwas Gl\u00fcck zum Schluss h\u00e4tte es auch eine Podiumsplatzierung werden k\u00f6nnen.\u201c<\/p>\n

\nDer dritte Lauf der European Le Mans Series wird am 17. Juli auf dem Red Bull Ring in Spielberg\/\u00d6sterreich ausgetragen.<\/p>\n

Die Serie<\/strong>
\nIn der European Le Mans Series sind die Klassen LMP2, LMP3 und GTE am Start. Sie fahren jeweils gemeinsam in einem Vierstundenrennen, werden aber getrennt gewertet. Proton Competition startet mit dem 911 RSR in der Klasse GTE.<\/p>\n

European Le Mans Series (ELMS), Round 2 in Imola\/Italy<\/em><\/p>\n

Imola<\/em> \u2013 With a start-finish victory in Imola, the team Proton Competition is spectacularly back in the title fight of the European Le Mans Series. In the Porsche 911 RSR with starting number 77, Wolf Henzler (N\u00fcrtingen), Robert Renauer (Jedenhofen) and Mike Hedlund (USA) claimed their first victory of the season in the GTE class in the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari on Sunday. After a strong performance in the qualifying, they started from pole position into the second race of the season, which ended behind the safety car because of strong rain \u2013 and didn\u2019t give away their lead during the whole four hours distance. In the second 911 RSR of Proton Competition, Christian Ried (Sch\u00f6neb\u00fcrg), Gianluca Roda (Italy) and Klaus Bachler (Austria) closely missed out on the podium by finishing fourth.<\/p>\n

Comments about the race<\/strong>
\nMichael Ried<\/strong>, team owner and technical director: \u201cThis is a well-deserved success for the whole team. We didn\u2019t let the not that fortunate season kick-off in Silverstone discourage us from following our course, we learned the right lessons and realized them perfectly here. We were rewarded for this. Today, everything was right \u2013 the drivers\u2019 performance, the pit stops and of course the performance of the 911 RSR as well. That we crossed the finish line ahead of all the other more powerful LMP3 cars says it all. After this success, we can be even more optimistic for the next races.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wolf Henzler<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #77): \u201eAt the beginning, I had some difficulties in finding my rhythm because of the yellow flag periods. But then, everything went smoothly. Robert drove a great double stint and with this laid the foundation for victory. I am especially happy for the team, which worked very hard and prepared our car perfectly. It was a lot of fun today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert Renauer<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #77): \u201eThere is nothing better than winning my first race with Proton Competition. The 911 RSR was tuned fantastically. Right from the start, I could drive a smooth two hours stint and pass the car to Wolf with a comfortable lead. Even without the heavy rain in the end, we wouldn\u2019t have let this victory be taken away from us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Hedlund<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #77): \u201eOf course, there are more pleasant things for a race driver than following the safety car for the most time of his stint. But today, only victory matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Christian Ried<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #88): It\u2019s a pity that it wasn\u2019t enough for the podium. But we are happy about the well-deserved victory of our teammates and will try everything that we will be at the top in the next race in Spielberg.\u201d<\/p>\n

Klaus Bachler<\/strong> (Porsche 911 RSR #88): \u201eWhen I got in the 911 RSR, I was the last to go back on the track. The fourth place in this strong field is not a bad result. With a bit of luck in the end, it could as well have been a podium position.\u201d<\/p>\n
